Objectives

The project is part of our program as “European School of Hesse”. Our facility should be recognized as thinking and working as a part of Europe. For the participants of the mobility should make an authentic experience in the destination of Ireland. The main focus lies on the acquisition of intercultural and language competencies. Acquisition of practical competencies directly linked to the participants vocational training would be welcome but has a minor focus. But coming up with and executing practical solutions in the target language enables the participants to leave their comfort zone and make viable learnings and experiences. This makes a true difference to just traveling and visiting other countries. Thereby, a higher European employability is achieved. The unfortunately not processed part of the project, where staff mobility was planned, goes into the same direction. It should increase the competencies in the areas of methodology and language.

Background

The project is an integral part of our international collaboration at our school. The possibility for participants who are in a vocational training to participate in a work placement is an important part of our work as a “European School of Hesse”. For several years now, we are successfully executing these mobility projects and they are an elemental part of our school program. It spread the European idea of collaboration especially in these challenging times. The goal is to make Europe a practical experience for the participants. Moreover, the projects offers learnings in the planning, execution and evaluation of international projects.
