Objectives

During the 3-week educational stay, the participants should apply and deepen their knowledge of Spanish and complete a "work placement" in a local company. This way they get to know the Spanish economic area and the Spanish culture better and will be encouraged in their willingness to be flexible and mobile and possibly later to work abroad. Your European awareness should be sharpened, and the application of social skills such as teamwork and willingness to compromise is essential for a successful stay.

Background

The project we applied for is a 3-week educational stay for an 11th industrial class (EURO industrial clerks) at the State Vocational School II Bayreuth in Spain. We have been running this educational stay continuously since 2008, initially for four years in Barcelona and since 2012 in Ubeda. In 2020, the fully organized mobility to Ubeda had to be canceled due to Corona, and the project was only continued in 2023 with a new partner and a new city (Seville). The training "Euro industrial clerk" was offered for the first time in 2007 by the government of Upper Franconia with us as a pilot school, is aimed exclusively at high school graduates and combines the well-known training occupation of industrial clerk with a comprehensive English and Spanish language training. It makes an important contribution to increasing the attractiveness of the dual system for those interested in studying and to retaining highly qualified young people in the structurally weak region of Upper Franconia. All of this is highly valued by the export-oriented companies in our region and offers the students a further additional qualification and significantly better chances on the job market.
