Objectives

With the ELLA 3.0 project, we wanted to achieve the main goal: to give trainees from all over the country and employees of our organization the opportunity to win international competitions with work experience abroad. We wanted to show the target group of trainees career and employment opportunities in a changing world of work and the coupling of employment-promoting perspectives through mobility and language skills with personal knowledge from experience. The following goals should be achieved with our project: - Raising awareness of mobility and removing existing obstacles to mobility - Expansion and application of language skills in the real working and living environment - Improving the quality, attractiveness and performance of professional initial training - Recognition of skills and qualifications - Raising the competence level of risk groups (disadvantaged young people, Single parents, school dropouts, immigrants, people with a migration background, people with disabilities) - Breaking down cultural barriers and prejudices through exchange of views, accompanying cultural events and gaining personal experience with the respective culture - Implementation of the national/European qualifications framework - Opening of the companies for an implementation of the idea of internationalization (think globally, act locally) At the organizational level, the Überlingen Academy wanted to focus more on strengthening the ability to develop innovative, demand-oriented, attractive offers. The Academy in Überlingen operates in the district of Harz in a predominantly rural region in Germany. We want to develop new formats that are more attractive and tailored to the people in our region. In concrete terms, further training stays abroad should reach all employees of the Überlingen Academy in a way that develops their personality in order to be strategically prepared for the new requirements in the economy. So far, only a small part of the workforce has been able to go on professional learning trips. The aim is to further reduce the obstacles to mobility for trainees and employees and to describe the advantages of a stay abroad. The program is to be used as a personnel development measure at the Überlingen Academy in Wernigerode. The branch management has set itself the long-term goal of giving 20% of the staff at the Überlingen Wernigerode Academy the opportunity to take part in one or more internships abroad at a facility that is active in the educational field of our company between 2020 and 2023. We want to achieve the following strategic goals with the implementation of the program: • Continuation of the project as an offer for trainees and companies in our region in order to develop and improve personal development, the employability of employees and the establishment of the company on the European market by acquiring additional learning outcomes (skills, skills and competences). • Developing an awareness of the special features of a project with transnational components (legal framework, organizational features, language, communication) • Increasing intercultural skills (awareness of possible differences in relevant norms and values such as punctuality or the validity of verbal agreements) active participation in international networks • Development of partnership cooperation • Implementation of the European idea in society By getting to know other educational institutions in other European countries, our employees have made it possible to expand their skills in their professional field. The first step was to get to know other teaching methods and teaching goals through shadowing. It is also important to get to know the content and form of vocational training in other countries, to recognize cultural differences and to be able to give practical help in order to be able to optimally prepare our trainees for a stay abroad. More content must be included in training that takes into account the international environment of business and society. The prevailing shortage of skilled workers in our district, especially in the areas of crafts, care and HoGa, can only be counteracted through targeted, innovative training, in which young people and companies are given the opportunity to spend time abroad as an opportunity to acquire additional skills and work techniques.

Background

The Überlingen Academy is a business-oriented, regionally anchored and European networked educational institution and has carried out numerous transnational measures with young people and young adults. As an Erasmus+ project sponsor, we have been well established in Wernigerode and the Harz region since 2008. Our tasks lie in coordination, recruitment, preparation and support of participants, marketing and evaluation. We have been the receiving institution since 2011. In the international department, our tasks lie in arranging internships and accommodation, support, monitoring and evaluation. Findings from these projects are always incorporated into the implementation of existing mobility projects. A target group-specific project on the subject of mobility was the project IdA - integration through exchange (funded by the BAMS within the framework of the ESF integration guideline federal). Since 2009, a total of 450 disadvantaged young people and people with disabilities have been able to complete an internship lasting several months in England, Malta or Spain in an apprenticeship or in an internship position as orientation for subsequent training. Here, the Überlingen Academy acted as the sponsor of the entire "Fit for Europe" network in the Harz District. In the cooperation with regional and transnational partners, the good regional anchoring and the tried and tested cooperation with our partner organizations became apparent. From 2015 to 2018, AÜ Wernigerode was responsible for 3 MobiPro-EU projects. From the start, 35 young people from EU countries have been able to do company training in Germany with the help of the AÜ through support classes and educational support. At the beginning of 2020, the Überlingen Academy will be responsible for the WiSo project. The aim of this cooperation between the Harz District and Vietnam is to prepare Vietnamese for an apprenticeship in Germany. During the training, the participants are looked after by our employees. The program was developed as part of the ideas competition to strengthen the Saxony-Anhalt labor market and is funded by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitization of Saxony-Anhalt. Since 2011, the Academy in Überlingen has been active as a receiving and sending institution for LEONARDO DA VINCI and Erasmus+ as well as for TLN mobility projects from abroad. As part of these projects, our educational institution successfully placed participants from Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey, France, Sweden and the Czech Republic in internship companies in the Harz district. The project "ELLA 3.0" = "Europe - learning and living abroad" promotes stays abroad in vocational training within Europe. Through a learning stay in another European country, trainees can gain further professional qualifications and gain new specialist knowledge. They get to know new working techniques and improve their language skills Remove.
