It was the project's objective to find a transformed understanding of education, get new impulses, learn about different perspectives and develop appropriate educational, conceptual and administrative competences. To do this, our complete staff and a number of freelance teachers from different subject areas were to take part in topic-related structured courses and observations, try methodological approaches themselves and establish a discourse with experienced European players. The main objectives were: 1. Everyone involved in the project will have developed an extended understanding of inclusive and digitally-driven adult education and its pedagogical and organisational consequences. 2. We will have analysed varied European good practice examples and discussed as well as elaborated transfer solutions for our environment. 3. We will have implemented new methodological approaches and included pedagogical ideas into existing learning arrangements. 4. We will have scrutinized our service processes and performance critically. We will have examined suggested improvements. Changes will have been introduced if applicable.
We were faced with deep social changes, our public obligation to ensure broad participation of all parts of the local population and the rapid development of information and communication technologies. At the same time, our school was in the midst of an intensive process of re-defining our role as a municipal adult education institution after fundamental organisational changes. Inclusion and digitalization characterized and affected this development. Increasingly we wanted to become a place of open access, participation and advancement to all people in our community. With the project we aimed to find pedagogical and administrative answers to questions of inclusive and digital reality in adult education. We continually aspire to improve our educational and organizational service. We believe that there is a strong potential in closely linking the fields of inclusion, digitalization and service. The project's objective was to make this potential tangible and actively form it.
