Objectives

Several goals were pursued with this project. On the one hand, we wanted to support local adult education institutions in their internationalization processes. This goes hand in hand with a strengthening of the inter- and transcultural competences of the participating adult educators, but also with a strengthening of the European networks of our local partners. Cultural openness, appreciation of diversity, tolerance and self-reflection are competences that are transported in this way on an institutional level, but also in relation to teaching and learning in the institutions. The promotion of education for sustainable development in our partner institutions was another goal that emerged in the course of the project. Here, the European exchange is particularly fruitful, because through the networking an exchange of experiences about challenges but also solutions could take place. For our institution, the project also served to consolidate our local network in Leipzig, but also to expand our network at the European level through the mobiities abroad.

Background

Wisamar's central goals in all areas of activity are the promotion of European identity, as well as cultural openness and appreciation of diversity. Furthermore, we are committed to lifelong learning and as such support adult education institutions in implementing staff learning experiences through mobility projects. Adult educators reach a broad part of the population. When multipliers in adult education experience Europe themselves and network internationally, this also changes their daily work and their teaching. This promotes a European identity and benefits not only the learners themselves, but also their colleagues in the institutions. For this reason, our application included institutions with which we have already been in close local cooperation for many years. The Annalinde gGmbH is a constant in Leipzig on topics of urban agriculture and informal, but also non-formal education for sustainable development. The VHS is also a local working partner for us, especially in the cooperation on KA2 projects. With this project, we were able to support them in their international networking and give them new impulses.
