Objectives

The main goals of the various activities are the internationalisation (see also https://www.osz-louise-schroeder.de/unsere-schule/internationalisierung/) of the college and the support of the students in this field. The acquisition of foreign language and intercultural competences is anchored in the mission statement of our college and part of the school life. Intercultural exchanges, work placements and getting to know working cultures and training structures abroad are intended to contribute to the development of pupils' international vocational competence. In the long term, this should allow better career and future opportunities for the participants in the project, also in other countries. In order to increase the quality of the stays, the pupils are sent on 2 to 6 month internships, see also https://www.osz-louise-schroeder.de/auslandspraktikum-lss/. The application for teacher trainings has also been extended in order to promote the internationalisation of the college within the members of the staff as well. Our college has steadily expanded its international activities and will continue to do so in the long term. Existing contacts with German training partners and partners abroad are maintained, intensified and complemented

Background

The Louise Schroeder Schule, College of Office Management and Public Administration in Berlin (http://www.osz-louise-schroeder.de) is a state educational institution that has been involved in European exchange programs since 2002 and thus has a focus on internationalisation. Over 2360 students are taught by 130 teachers. We teach trainees in the German dual system in the fields of public administration, media and information services and office management (these are also taught in full-time school-based). In addition, students can acquire a technical college or general university entrance qualification with a focus on economics. Language instruction (Business English, -Spanish or -French) is part of the curriculum in all courses and we enable our students to take official language examinations. We are running the project to open up this unique opportunity to all our students. The college has developed a strategy for internationalisation and in 2015 received the mobility charter for VET-education for 2016-2020 as well as a renewed accreditation until 2027 in 2021. In dual education, there is a long-term close cooperation with Berlin and Brandenburg authorities who are actively involved in the Erasmus project.
