Objectives

The internship abroad promoted the personal development of the students, their employability and their willingness to participate in the European labour market. All project participants should gain initial professional experience abroad as part of the internship with a view to possible future employment in a neighbour European country. The internship should increase the willingness for professional mobility on a Europe-wide level. The aim of such a project should be that colleagues get to know the vocational training systems of other European countries or to take part in further training measures in the field of foreign languages. Further training courses abroad expand the pedagogical skills of teachers with the component of international experience. It also increases the intercultural competence. The mobility project thus also served as an element of the personnel and organizational development of the school.

Background

As part of its internationalization strategy, Hubertus Schwartz Vocational College has consistently pursued intercultural school development in recent years. These mobility activities fit into this development. The students should improve their general and technical language skills in the foreign language through internships in foreign companies and participation in life in foreign families. In addition, informal learning should also be made possible through the internship abroad. It was not only about applying economic knowledge and improving languages skills, but also intercultural learning and intercultural experiences should be promoted. It was important to get to know the differences in the political, economic and cultural areas of individual countries and regions. For the third time Hubertus Schwartz Vocational College applied for mobility funds for stays abroad for interested colleagues
