As stated above, we want to keep on our international strategy as "European school" and "European Parliament Embassador School". Besides our project week and participation in European competitions, the realisation of international internships for our students as well as the possibiity for job-shadowings for our staff are important to follow our strategy. We further want to convince more companies and members of staff about the value and advantages of international exchanges which needs a constant offer of funding for their apprentices. Further objectives and aims of our internationalisation strategy are: - increase of intercultural knowledge within the European employment market - extension of job-related skills with focus on different approaches to the same goal - development and acceptance of English as lingua franca for the European job market - character development of adolescents in terms of self-reliance and independence during mobilities and experiences abroad - improvement of the European perception and development of European citizenship
As the regional center for vocational education it is important to offer international exchanges as the job market and the vision of a peaceful and united Europe demands this. The BBS Soltau offers a wide range of Europe-related activities such as workshops and a project week in May to sharpen its profile of being a certified "European School" and "European Parliament Embassador School". In this sense, the project was supposted to continue with our work in the process of internationalisation offering both staff and vocational students to attain personal and job related skills abroad. We further wanted to build new cooperations and strengthen existent partnerships on a trustful and reliable base to continue our work as European School. The feedback of local companies, students and the general position of the ministry of education also show the importance of international and European exchanges. Furthermore, it is important for our school development, to train our staff and offer them insights to other systems and approaches to make them improve and reflect their working processes. Here we wanted to offer job shadowings.
