Objectives

Together with their Romanian colleagues, vocational school teachers from the fields of chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering/information technology developed an interdisciplinary teaching module entitled "Development and construction of learning stations for recording and processing technical production process data". Due to the simultaneous presence of a German-Romanian learning group, the special feature of this project was that the planning could be immediately implemented in concrete teaching activities. The teachers received immediate feedback, so that an evaluation and thus the optimization and adaptation of the planned learning units of the teaching module could take place promptly. The teaching module developed by the team of teachers can be used in both partner schools or by dual partners. The individual working groups in the overall project were composed of the disciplines of chemistry, automation, IT and metal technology in line with requirements, so that the individual skills and strengths in the team emerged optimally and all learners participated to the maximum from the respective participating disciplines.

Background

The internationalization strategy of the Berufskolleg Uerdingen is the central goal and instrument of all activities the transnational mobility of students and educational staff. The networked work of teaching and training staff of both partner schools fulfills an extremely important multiplier function. Therefore, a didactic-methodical concept with the associated transfer of curricular content was to be jointly developed in the project carried out. The second focus of the internationalization strategy is the cooperation in the worldwide UNESCO school network. In the multi-year staged recognition process. 1. interested school: membership at the level of a federal state 2. cooperating school: member of the national network (December 2017) 3. recognized UNESCO project school: member of the international network (December 2020) the BKU has received the status as a recognized UNESCO project school in 2020. Within the overall requirements, a key guideline is "intercultural learning/coexistence in diversity". This is supported by internships abroad - especially within the 25 years of existing partnership between BKU and the Colegiul Tehnic Costin D. Nenitescu (CTN for short). The implemented project was a contribution to this.
