Experiencing differences in the European educational landscape and learning and working abroad enhances the professional, transcultural and personal competence of our students and our staff. At the same time, we further develop the internationalisation of our institution, promote the European idea and contribute to the comparability of training. Based on high quality standards concerning the preparation, execution, evaluation and further development of our mobilities, we continuously expand our contacts to European practice institutions, technical schools, colleges and universities. We extend our efforts to facilitate inclusion in order to enable a wide range of students from different courses and with varied socio-economical, personal and cultural backgrounds as well as our staff to take part in the mutual exchange of experiences. This contributes to an extended cultural understanding of our present staff as well as the future educators in training. It also facilitates the familiarisation with current topics of discussion in the European educational landscape, the careful consideration of different methodological approaches and participation in the transnational discourse.
The training of future educators is the main goal of Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus Vocational School for Social Pedagogy – School with an European Profile (PFH). One important element for the contemporary training of future educators is the acquisition of practical experience in other European countries; allowing the participants a change of perspective, a concrete professional experience abroad as well as the further development of their transcultural competences. As part of the internationalisation strategy of the mobility charta, we offer our vocational education and training personnel - both teaching staff and professional staff in the socio-pedagogical practice sector – the opportunity to participate in international exchange, in networking and job-shadowing. We are convinced that this is a valuable contribution to European identity and promotes a better understanding of the requirements of a multicultural socio-pedagogical practice. A wide range of synergy effects and continuing development arise from PFH’s various international contacts, 25 years of experience with European mobility programmes, our international network and the substantial interest of our students, our teaching staff as well as our professional practice staff.
