Objectives

The educational programs and the responsible country coordinators have developed different routines for their scheduling of mobilities. What all educational programs have in common is the procedure for the preparation, support and follow-up of the mobilities. All areas carry out their mobility in the form of four-week stays abroad as part of internships and job shadowing. Within the framework of ERASMUS+, mobilities were planned for the project period in the following training courses: in the dual system of electronics technicians for automation technology, chemical laboratory assistants and metal workers as well as in the full-time school area mobilities for design engineers and technical assistants. Ultimately, however, the corona pandemic meant that mobility could only be carried out in the dual area with an industrial mechanic. In the area of teaching staff, there was a demand for language trips and job shadowing, and these were carried out with corresponding success.

Background

As a European school, it is particularly important to the school community to use the ERASMUS+ mobility projects to promote a view of the European world of work for both our students and staff. The Goldenberg Europakolleg (GEK) is located in an important economic center in the Cologne area. The cooperation with large, international companies (agricultural machinery, chemical industry, metal industry) requires the students and the teaching staff to be prepared for the growing demands of a European job market. As a European school, we attach great importance to this preparation. We also pay great attention to ensuring that our students assume their responsibility for a common Europe and act actively in intercultural contexts. We value the development of mature and responsible students.
