In addition to the technical and linguistic development, the focus was on intercultural competence development, related to the professional context and participation in European international understanding. In addition, due to the pandemic restrictions, it was important to us that the participants could improve their self-organization skills and act within a group.
For several years we have been conducting 3-week internships for full-time trainees in various European countries. Due to the changed starting position in 2020, it was not possible to carry out the previous project because the partners in other European countries could not assure us whether internships would be possible. With the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce, we have found an established contractual partner in 2021 to enable our students to spend time abroad. This project involved the implementation of a 3-week business language course for full-time trainees who have a basic commercial education with a focus on foreign languages.
