With this project, the EU Office contributed to the Europeanisation of VET. The central steering element of this strategy was the promotion of cross-border mobility of learners and teachers of the domestic BBI. During the pandemic, the EU Office remained a reliable partner for the BBI in its internationalisation efforts. In addition, because of the extended duration of the project due to the corona, complementary objectives arose. We used this overlong project of the old programme generation to prepare the BBI for the requirements of the current programme generation by carrying out offers on the horizontal programme priorities "Inclusion and Diversity" and "Environment and Combating Climate Change" in the area of staff mobility.
As one of 5 regional offices in NRW, one of our tasks is to support vocational education and training institutions (VETIs) in initiating and shaping international contacts and in participating in European funding programmes. We place particular emphasis on conceptual support for the BBIs in developing their own internationalisation strategies or in preparing and formulating their own ErasmusPlus plans. In this way, we can, on the one hand, provide strategic impulses for the internationalisation of the BBI and, on the other hand, relieve it by taking over administrative tasks when participating in EU programmes. The current project represents the continuation of our "mobinardo" project line, which has been in existence since 2007 and supports stays abroad for learners and teachers at VET institutions. In the process, "mobinardo" was continuously developed quantitatively and qualitatively according to the needs of the interested parties and in accordance with the European funding programmes. During Corona, the project remained active; this meant that - especially in the aftermath of the pandemic - all opportunities for vocational stays abroad could be used, even at short notice.
