The overarching goal of the international activities is to improve the quality of education through the acquisition of key intercultural skills for the apprentices, students and teachers. The intercultural competences required for professional cooperation can only be acquired through a reflected experience of professional and everyday reality. These competences are imparted by teaching European topics and international projects. The participants are prepared for the demands of a globalised working world, and they take part in international mobility projects and exchange programmes. Through the work placements they have gained insights into foreign companies and improved their knowledge of a foreign language. The learning units and competences were described via ECVET elements and documented in the Europass Mobility.
As part of the internationalisation activities of the KBS Nordhorn, the mobility project "KBS in Europe" offered apprentices, students and teachers the opportunity to complete part of their training abroad as a work placement or further training.
