Objectives

One goal was to expand the professional and methodological competence of teaching staff in the areas of "STEM subjects" and "foreign languages". The staff should expand their knowledge, e.g. in competence-oriented foreign language teaching, comparison of their own teaching requirements with the language levels according to the European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages), new teaching methods in STEM subjects (establishment of a Common European Framework of Reference "MINT go Europe"). By participating in courses in countries where the foreign language taught is the national language, by the fact that the course was held in the respective national language, it should be ensured that the colleagues' own language skills are intensively refreshed and expanded. The foreign language teachers were given the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the foreign language they teach. Our goal beyond our school community was and is the expansion of knowledge in the area of "digital learning": The participation should provide the colleagues with the necessary media competence and promote the teaching with new media at our school (the GaK is a STEM EC school as well as a "media school"), especially in the STEM subjects.

Background

Erasmus school education is a focus of our institution. The project was carried out in order to strengthen the cooperation between the school management and the staff in order to further develop the goals formulated in our mission statement (securing and further developing the quality of teaching' ). It is a concern of the school management that colleagues are trained on an international level and bring the knowledge to GaK. In the application round 2020 also members of the school management applied for further education in the field of " STEM ", but also to support the focus on "Erasmus" at the GaK. Erasmus" focus at the school and to promote cooperation between school management and staff. The restriction to the topics of STEM and foreign languages resulted from the interest of the teachers who had registered for further training in this round of applications.
