Objectives

We pursued several goals with our project. Especially the improvement of linguistic competence in English was very important to us, as there are many children in our school without any knowledge of German. These children and their parents speak mainly English and communication is difficult. Another important goal was to improve teacher health through preventive courses. Due to the shortage of teachers and the greatly increased demands on the teaching profession, teachers fell ill with exhaustion and even burnout in the years before and during our project. To prevent this, teachers should attend courses in which they learn how to switch off, relax and thus be able to cope with everyday school life. These courses should be, for example, yoga courses that also enable the teachers to perform relaxation and yoga exercises with the students. The third goal was to empower teachers in the safe use of digital media. The courses were to help train multipliers who would train the teachers in the school and bring digital media into the classroom in a meaningful way.

Background

Our primary school has many children whose families come from many different countries. Among other things, our Erasmus+ projects should contribute to making our lessons and after-school care more cosmopolitan. Under the motto "Fit for Europe, fit for the future", we wanted to encourage our pupils and teachers to open up their lessons, to look beyond national borders and to learn and apply new learning methods through mobility in other European countries.
