Objectives

We wanted to gain a detailed insight into the Swedish and Finnish school systems in order to learn from the experiences made. Through the mobility activity we wanted to gain multi-layered experiences and learning. We wanted to gain knowledge about the partner countries, their school and education systems, and cultural life. Through the full-day insight into a normal school day, we wanted to experience how lessons and extracurricular activities work and which activities the pupils like. During the observation in class, we wanted to expand and strengthen our professional competence. The aim of the exchange with the colleagues on site was to critically examine the advisory competence with regard to integration and inclusion and to gain new insights. The experience gained by the participants was to be incorporated into the further development of their own school profile through their own professional strengthening through the measure carried out. New impulses should be able to be brought in so that a change and improvement succeeds.

Background

This project was carried out because we work at a school with a high proportion of migrants and always want to learn about new learning methods and ways of integration. For this reason, the insight into other European school systems is helpful. Finland and Sweden are considered pioneers of school inclusion, do well in educational studies and are pushing digitalisation quickly and successfully. They have also been affected by immigration and are looking for solutions in the inclusion of children with an immigrant background. Based on these facts, we wanted a collegial exchange of expertise to experience different forms and possibilities of inclusion in the school context.
