Objectives

For the teachers it was important for us to increase the intercultural competence and ability profile as well as the professional action competence on an international level, especially with regard to being able to contribute to a cohesive society in the present and in the future. The possibility to participate in international mobilities should give rise to an increased cooperation in professional education on an international level. For the vocational college it would now be the long-term goal to anchor the curricular expansion in connection with the acquisition of intercultural competences, in the didactic annual plans. Through the experience gained, these can be implemented more easily and effectively. We are also striving to expand the school program to include the aspect of internationalization. It is important to emphasise the importance of international education with regard to the European labour market and studying in Europe for the students at our vocational college. The project "Move On for a Better Intercultural Awareness" has the clear goal of promoting intercultural sensitivity at our school and developing the skills for intercultural cooperation and creating a more inclusive and respectful society.

Background

In line with our school development plan, the project "Move On for a Better Intercultural Awareness" was launched with the aim of promoting intercultural sensitivity and understanding of other cultures in our school community. This initiative is based on the belief that greater intercultural competence is necessary to address the challenges and opportunities in our globalised world. The long-term internationalisation goal of our school is to obtain the "European School" certificate. The development table of the school's requirements for achieving the certificate includes, among other things, a certain number of teachers who have completed further training in other European countries and the acquisition of European cooperation partners. Furthermore, our goal is the expansion of cultural and professional dimensions, their integration into the school's everyday life or curriculum. The results of the training can thus lead to an individual benefit for all those involved in the system (teachers and learners).
