Objectives

Inclusion : Learning processes must be increasingly individualised, the challenges of teaching heterogeneous learning groups continue to grow and the integration of refugees are important tasks for schools. Teaching and learning foreign languages: We wanted to create further training opportunities both for refreshing the foreign language skills of our foreign language teachers who have studied and for enabling further development of the foreign language skills of teachers who will be teaching outside the subject area in the future. In addition, there should be opportunities for further training in the methodological area. Basically, we have the increase of the teaching quality of foreign language teaching as a focus from which the student body benefits. Digitisation : The growing digitisation and the introduction of digital media in the school sector make it indispensable for teachers to acquire knowledge in order to be able to use and master the new technology. Implementing new infrastructure in the digital area was important for us. The overall goal is and remains the continuous professional development of our teachers with the help of Erasmus.

Background

Current challenges for our teachers concern the areas of digitalisation, inclusion and foreign language competence. By participating in Erasmus mobilities, we wanted to enable our teachers to professionalise in these areas. Furthermore, the positive attitude towards lifelong learning among our teachers is an important concern for us. Due to current developments in the European context, it is important for us to enable our staff to broaden their horizons, getting an insight into other school systems and pedagogical concepts and reflect upon them as well as getting to know good practice examples within Europe that they take home and implement into their daily work. Experiencing different cultures and strengthening European collaboration between schools are core areas in the educational context and therefore fundamental to be pursued. This project is the second to offer various development opportunities to the whole staff. Due to Covid-19, not as many mobilities as planned could take place in our first project; with this project and the extended project duration, a total of 12 mobilities could be carried out.
