The desire to promote a digitalisation process at our school made it necessary to train the teachers. To enable teachers to use digital media in the classroom, they were sent to Erasmus Key Action 1 training courses. The in-service training was a building block of the transformation to a digital school. In addition, the international orientation of our school and teaching was once again supported by the stays abroad. With the continuous participation in Erasmus projects to promote bilingual teaching at our school in the past and the continuation of Erasmus activities in the context of our digitalisation, the international orientation of our school is confirmed in the public perception.
In the field of digitalisation, our vocational school had and still has a considerable backlog. In connection with the procurement of infrastructure equipment (WLAN in the entire building) and the acquisition of digital end devices (tablets and laptops), the training of teachers became necessary in order to be able to use the devices in class. Training courses offered at all levels were used. These included the courses at state level from the Thuringian Educational Institute for Teachers (Thillm) and in-school courses by multipliers. The Erasmus programme of Key Action 1 created an additional offer for teachers who could be reached or lured by the incentive of an additional stay abroad. In this respect, our vocational school pushed the digitalisation of our school through a wide range of training courses.
