The aim was now to professionalize further colleagues for upcoming Erasmus+ projects in order to carry out student exchanges and internships abroad in the medium term. In particular, the knowledge in the area of the possibilities of the Erasmus+ program, the skills of application and the European network in relation to potential partner schools and teachers should be expanded. In addition, the language skills of the teachers should be improved. It should be clarified which mobilities within the program can be carried out in a meaningful and appropriate way for BBS Burgdorf. The seconded teachers should strengthen the school's own team "International Affairs" with their newly acquired competences and establish contacts for school partnerships in other European countries during the mobilities. Likewise, domestic contacts should be established in order to be able to inform each other collegially about innovations and organizational matters. The ultimate goal is to further internationalize the school BBS Burgdorf and thus to successfully contribute to building the House of Europe. With this project we hope to increase the intercultural understanding of the pupils and students.
BBS Burgdorf is one of the largest vocational schools in Lower Saxony and saw a great need for internationalization in the year of application 2019. This need was seen among the students, but also among the teaching staff. After a successful mobility of the school to Italy with a focus on international exchange in e-mobility, the European idea has been carried further into the college. It was recognized that in times of increasing globalization, the living environment and the job market of our students is also changing. In order to prepare them for this, we wanted to promote intercultural exchange in the vocational area. The number of students at BBS Burgdorf who are responsible for this internationalization process is to be increased in order to enable the school to cooperate further with European partners and with chambers in the Hanover region in order to be able to carry out internships abroad.
