The experiences with Key Action 1 so far have been perceived as very positive by all participants. In addition to the purely technical experiences and the expansion of competences, the social and cultural experiences were also praised again and again and highlighted as particularly beneficial. There was always an open, friendly and cooperative atmosphere during the courses attended. Especially the exchange between colleagues about teaching experiences in different school systems proved to be extremely enriching. We wanted to successfully continue these very positive experiences in the completed project and additionally expand them through a well-chosen number of job shadowings. The newly acquired knowledge was to be profitably passed on to the teaching staff as well as to the pupils. We achieved the hoped-for goals to a large extent, although unfortunately we were not able to carry out all mobilities to the desired extent and in the desired number.
One of the main concerns of the KBS-Mainz is to further advance the use of digital technologies in methodical learning offers after the roll-out of comprehensive digital technology through the Digitalpakt and to further reduce methodical-didactical barriers in the use of digital media in the classroom. As a vocational school, we want to provide our students with the most practical training possible. The professional world is currently characterized by immense pressure to adapt and optimize in the information age. The demands of the professional world on the digital skills of our graduates are changing accordingly. ICT significantly promotes the ability to individualize student-specific learning processes in terms of sequence and speed with comparatively little additional effort on the part of the teacher. We definitely want to take advantage of this potential. For the weakest students in particular, the opportunities arising from the use of new media can make all the difference and counteract early school dropouts. The school offers overarching ICT content for students in all technical school branches.Moodle has already been successfully introduced at our school as an information and communication platform. All students are already using our e-learning platform. The linking of digital technology (moodle, laptops, iPads, smartphones) into the classroom requires further qualification of the teachers in large parts of the staff.
