Objectives

Against the background of growing internationalization and digitization of the working world, we wanted to strengthen the competence of our employees in terms of specialist knowledge and awareness of entrepreneurship and digitization. In order to be able to organize their lessons more professionally, the project participants should get to know and try out new teaching and learning methods with the help of further training and shadowing. The use of new hardware and collaboration platforms must also be learned, and the teachers must be able to competently integrate them into the classroom. We strive for a creative and student-oriented approach to these media. The young people should be introduced to the opportunities and risks of digitization (security, data protection,...) in a "safe school space". The teachers have set themselves the goal of tailoring the new content and the use of new devices and collaboration platforms or the use of agile methods that promote personal responsibility to the needs of the students in a meaningful way. That means that we need to train the teachers in these subjects. In the European context, the school therefore aims to exchange ideas with teachers from other countries where the use of digital media in school lessons is already more established.

Background

The Helmut Schmidt School is a school that is characterized by its international orientation. As a European school, we live diversity and tolerance, which is not only reflected in our everyday school life, but also in our school title. We are proud to have school partnerships and projects with schools from the Netherlands, Slowakia, Denmark and Norway. Through these partnerships, our students have the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers from other countries and to expand their intercultural skills. In order to be able to live this internationality in everyday school life, we also get our teachers on board. So it is only logical to also offer our teachers and school staff international mobility and further training in other European countries. For several years there has been an ERASMUS+ working group in which teachers exchange information on European topics, share their experiences from further training and language courses and also report on international mobility in the vocational field outside of the school.
