The "Digitalisation and Media Competence" project aimed to promote innovative teaching methods and practices through a European exchange of proven approaches. This endeavour aimed to provide teachers with significant insights into their methodology and didactics. Incorporating digital tools and media into the classroom was intended to make the learning experience more interactive and enhance teaching quality. Furthermore, the project aimed to expand teachers' competencies and integrate them into their teaching to better prepare students for the demands of the digital world. The project sought to strengthen awareness of diversity and various pedagogical approaches by exchanging proven practices and engaging in international project collaboration. Overall, the project aimed to achieve its objectives in the three defined areas to achieve sustainable impacts on teaching quality, school development, and European collaboration.
The "Digitalisation and media competence" project addresses the significance of knowledge as a central resource in the Information Age and the necessity of knowledge management. Within the context of digitalisation, personalised and competency-oriented teaching gains relevance. This approach places particular emphasis on knowledge management, self-responsibility, and self-reflection. The learning process is increasingly focused on acquiring the ability to continuously gain new knowledge and skills, especially those that surpass machine and artificial intelligence capabilities, such as creativity and critical thinking. A consortium has been established under the leadership of the School Authority Board of Berlin-Mitte and in collaboration with six schools in the borough. This joint project aims to intertwine modern technology with progressive educational concepts. This encompasses a focus on integrating technology and pedagogy, promoting individualised learning and talents, creating new pathways for the customisation of learning processes and advancing inclusion, as well as effective classroom management and strategic utilisation of digital media in teaching.
