Objectives

We wanted to achieve an improvement in language competence, also in order to be able to better cooperate in further international projects. Teachers should be inspired to develop international projects and to inject a permanent international component into our school life. We expected that participants would also gain insights into other schools, come back with new perspectives and ideas and bring them into our school life. We hoped that teachers would be better equipped to take responsibility for their own health, for themselves and for all those involved in school life. We hoped to gain new impulses and methods in environmental education so that our students can take their own responsibility. We expected to gain inspiration to develop our school into a place where everyone is seen and responsibility for each other is lived.

Background

We are a Realschule in Oberreut, which is considered a problematic district. Our teaching staff, with the support of a social worker, is known for finding individual human solutions. The school management and the 40 teachers work in various working groups on school development. Our previous project "Strengthening Diversity" enriched us a lot and now more teachers wanted to participate. The interest to work together on a European level has met with broader interest, because the experiences brought along from job shadowing and international trainings enriched our school development.
