The aims of our project were: -- A: Improvement of the learning environment, concerning educational equity and sustainable learning. Considerung the enormous heterogeneity of our students (as described above), the learning environment is of great importance. The feeling of safety, experiencing relationship, tolerance and mindfulness are very important for these learners to be able to concentrate on learning at all. Here we wanted to expand our competences and learn from good practice in other countries. The methods of intercultural, cooperative learning and classroom management are part of our school curriculum and should be extended by methods of playful learning and outdoor learning. -- Area B: English language competence: On one hand, we would enhance the individual foreign language skills of our teachers for future cooperation on an European level. On the other hand, attending CLIL courses is an ongoing work for modern language teaching of high quality.
Mörike Gemeinschaftsschule has been participating in the Erasmus+ program since 2014. The structured Erasmus+courses concerning heterogeneity in classrooms, intercultural teaching and learning, inclusion and media sills proved to be valuable in our school development process. and we intend to continue with this topics. Two additional topics have been added: Educational equity and learning environment. They are important for our school in different ways: At our school (primary and lower secondary), our students - are learning on 4 different levels, thus covering the entire spectrum in education. In addition, students with special needs are educated inclusively. - are learning in international composed learning groups (learners from over 30 countries, proportion of learners with migration background in SEK I: 64%). Two preparatory classes teach children/adolescents without German language skills. - have very different socio-economic backgrounds. In order to support all these young people in the best possible way, a learning environment is needed in which they feel safe and secure and where educational inequalities are reduced. This is what we are working on.
