Objectives

DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF was set as a project goal. Through the visits to the specialized institutions abroad, our professional staff could get to know different forms of pedagogical work, and gain inspiration for methodical work in various subjects and for the creative and linguistic education of children. During the meetings, they could exchange opinions on the topics of intercultural education of children, parent coaching, organizational and structural work. Another project goal was "CHERISHING AND DEVELOPING EUROPE'S VALUES". The intercultural competencies acquired during this project should strengthen our professional staff in their role model function as EUROPEANS. Through the job shadowing, the diversity of Europe has gained authenticity. Respect and tolerance towards other Europeans in everyday business and life, as well as in relation to oneself, have been improved. The goal "STRENGTHENING EUROPE'S EDUCATIONAL LANDSCAPE" was also fully achieved. New contacts have been made and should lead to sustainable cooperations. Our professional staff strives to build, expand, strengthen professional networks throughout Europe.

Background

dreieins Innovative Pädagogik is an independent organization that runs kindergartens and elementary schools in Berlin and Aachen. We carried out the project in order to provide our qualified personnel with special transnational professional, linguistic and intercultural training. Through the project, our staff learned how the educational systems in Spain and Italy are organized in comparison to the German educational system. Thanks to the job shadowing in preschool, school and extracurricular institutions, our educators were able to learn about best practices and gain methodological inspiration for the daily pedagogical approach adopted in German schools and kindergartens. During the project, the teachers and educators were able to improve their knowledge of English and to learn the language of their host country (Italian or Spanish). The educators' ability to work in a team was strengthened. Through the project, the European vision has been more firmly established in our institutions and consolidated in the long term. The intercultural aspects became an integral part of the pedagogical work with the children. The teachers are open to new international projects with schools and kindergartens from other countries.
