Objectives

Encouraging early language learning and awareness, also with our foreign language offerings in our day-care centers. Here, the children we look after get to know another language casually (partial immersion) through native-speaker, foreign-speaking pedagogical staff. We want to expand this. + The expansion of education for sustainable development (ESD) is a key issue for the executing agency. In the coming years, the focus will be on the topics of environment, nature, climate protection and sustainability. + From a technical point of view, it is about getting to know pedagogical best practice examples in Europe and using them for the pedagogical work in our kindergartens. An exchange with a similarly large and renowned institution like KIWI is perfect for this. + The topic of media competence is playing an increasingly important role in educational institutions. Digitization is to be further expanded in organizational management, for educational documentation, conceptually and as an educational area of early childhood education. + Our institutions in Berlin have the task of facing the new challenges of an intercultural world metropolis. Learning from other educational institutions of other parts in Europe will support this task.

In our daycare centers, we rely on the latest findings in early childhood education and also cooperate with various universities and research institutions in this area. In the further development of our educational offers in our kindergartens, we rely on cooperation with a wide variety of partners outside our organization: universities and colleges, companies, institutes. This also includes exchanges with organizations from abroad, especially from other European countries. From today's point of view, we will focus on the following priorities in the next 5 years: - Incorporating the European perspective into our work, in which we learn from pedagogical approaches from other European countries. This also includes the early childhood company “Kinder in Wien” (hereinafter referred to as "KIWI") which is based in Austria Vienna. It’s focus lies on bilingual education, digitalization, interior design and its concept of an open pedagogy. The aim of this return visit is to exchange best practice examples between the participating institutions and to experience best practice through internships lasting several days.
