The above reasons are linked to clear goals for our institution. The health of our staff is to be maintained and strengthened. The aim was to provide colleagues with methods and ideas that they can use to shape their daily work in a mindful manner. This should have a multiplier effect on the entire school community. In the development area "Environment and Climate Change", teachers were to be sensitized to the challenges of this time that will enable our school to become an environmentally conscious school - naturally in cooperation with the student body. In addition, we strove to make our teaching contemporary and motivating by using innovative technologies. These efforts to modernize our school go hand in hand with the investments made by our school operator. Moreover, we pursued the overarching goal of entering into an international dialogue with partner schools and opening our school to international collaborations. We value the input of our European colleagues and engage with openness to different cultures. In this way, we want to be a role model for our students and actively promote unity, exchange and peace in the spirit of the European idea.
Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Schule is a cooperative comprehensive school that offers a variety of educational pathways, including the Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium branches. Thus, our student body is diverse. Our institution is an elite school in the field of sports. Currently, about 160 teachers teach about 1600 students at our school. Our teaching staff is characterized by its commitment, enthusiasm, and openness. Essentially, we pursued three primary goals and one overarching goal with this project, which equally represent the reasons or the basis for the implementation of the present project and thus answer the "Why?". Therefore, in a school that is becoming modern and digital, it is important to educate ourselves in the area of “media”. Similarly, one of our school development topics is "Education for Sustainable Development", so we would also like to use expertise and exchange with other European countries here. Last but not least, the corona pandemic has taught us that it is indispensable to pay attention to and maintain the health of our staff and teachers. In the spirit of the European idea, it is our overriding concern to open the school internationally and to set an example for openness, tolerance and diversity.
