Objectives

Digitalisation: Attending the ICT skills courses was intended to optimise work with new digital media. We hoped to learn about new ways of using these media profitably and effectively for learning. The aim was to make professional use of the innovations, purchases and new/expanded infrastructure in the school made possible by the Digital Pact and also to strengthen the skills of colleagues who do not yet have as much experience in this area. The impending changes and technical innovations led to a very high level of willingness among staff to take part in further training. In particular, the opportunity to directly learn about, practise and implement teaching content during Erasmus+ funded courses seemed especially attractive. The feedback from shorter training courses in the field of digitalisation was often that there was a lack of testing or that it was too short so that what had been learned was quickly forgotten and was not implemented in the classroom. The Erasmus+ team needed new staff to support the project management and also wanted to increase skills in the area of eTwinning.

Background

The following topics emerged as key areas of the 2020 LA1 application: Digitalisation without specification on certain subjects, digitalisation from a didactic perspective (foreign languages, films in German classes and performing arts), Erasmus+ project management. Courses were planned in all areas. The training courses were intended to offer colleagues an increase in subject-specific and methodological skills through structured input on the subject area. Through the international mix of course participants different perspectives on different school systems and approaches are provided. This allows theoretical approaches to be tested directly. The area of digitalisation was chosen because the school was undergoing a process of change, the first funds from the Digital Pact were within reach, a digitalisation comissioner had been appointed and the need for further training in the area of digitalisation was identified as extremely high..
