We wanted to promote motivation and self-detremined learning among our students. We wanted to work not only in lessons for this, but in different areas of our school (e.g. the school library).
Our students are very heterogenous, many students come from economical desadvantaged families. There are many newly migrated children and refugee children as well. Also the academical engagement of our students is very heterogenous. Therefore we wanted to gain new strategies to address students in a more individual way and to promote their motivation. We wanted to learn how to address the diverse needs and background of our students better., especially students with low motivation and difficulties in following the traditional way of instruction in school. We also saw the need to strengthen the European dimension of our school life and lessons. To improve this we wanted to attend courses together with teachers from other European countries and to exchage with them about their routine and needs in school.
