Objectives

This view of one's own work from the outside and the exchange with colleagues in Europe has already led to an expansion of the employees' ability to act and thus to the improvement in the work in the daycare centers that we intended with this project. Central to improving the quality of work is increasing the skills of employees in every respect: Key competencies of colleagues such as language skills, teamwork, problem-solving and management skills should be further improved through the implemented and future measures. In addition, positive approaches, new ideas and methods that employees were able to get to know abroad should also be adapted and used in full or in part for their own daily work.

Background

With this project we wanted to open a window to Europe for all daycare centers in the consortium and to internationalize the work more. Many employees in the daycare centers are very focused on the situation in Berlin or in their own facility in their daily work. The current shortage of skilled workers and the resulting constantly increasing workload are making this situation even worse. “Looking outside the box” should help employees to compare and discuss their own pedagogical practice with the work of colleagues at the European level. New and good approaches to educational practice should be experienced and literally understood.
