Our internationalisation strategy resulted in the following goals, among others: To advance the internationalisation of the LGS with the help of further training for teachers in European and non-European countries and thus promote language acquisition and intercultural understanding as well as subject competences. The expansion of the linguistic and intercultural competences of teaching staff and our students carry a high value in European cooperation. Furthermore, these competences facilitate the daily work of the teaching staff with our multicultural student body. In order to sensitise the students and the companies to the idea of intercultural understanding as well as the expansion of professional competences, it is also necessary to motivate and qualify the teaching staff in such a way that they can pass on their experiences and newly acquired know-how accordingly. This can only happen through new projects and an increase in the quality of training. The implementation of European in-service teacher training will thus become an integral part of teacher qualification measures in the linguistic, intercultural, methodological and subject context.
LGS would like to further promote the internationalisation of the school and make it accessible to a wider range of colleagues. To make this possible, it is important to continue to implement the topic of internationalisation in all training and school areas. This also requires greater acceptance and support from the teaching staff. We would like to expand the participation in EU projects in the teaching staff and the teams, as well as the professional, linguistic and intercultural competences of the teaching staff. The training needs identified for this purpose were therefore aimed at promoting courses and training in the areas of foreign language skills, intercultural skills, methodological competences for teaching in the areas of new technologies, digitalisation, IT and project management competences. The integration of our educational staff in European training courses gives us the opportunity to make our staff experience Europe and lifelong learning and to open it up to a wider circle of people. The courses lead to lively exchanges with colleagues from other countries and institutions. This can also lead to new partnerships at EU level.
