A joint advanced training enables the teachers working together collegially in the upper levels of our school and especially in the arts and culture profile to share experiences here and to find common strategies and approaches in order to create networking and comparability in everyday teaching. Artists who are invited to the Bienniale to make their work accessible to a broad public are often presented in subsequent exhibitions in the years that follow. Therefore, this exhibition enables students to become acquainted with relevant art positions from all over the world at an early stage and thus functions as a goal-oriented empowerment for the mediation of works of art from all cultural backgrounds, as required by the educational curricula of secondary education in Germany. The students' own exhibition practice, presenting their aesthetic-practical works in the context of various extracurricular exhibition spaces (such as the Hamburg "Art Pioneers Project"), can also benefit from these experiences of the teachers. The Spanish teacher hoped that the project would professionalize her work and consolidate and expand it in terms of language use, methodology and content.
Since art didactics is in a constant state of change based on developments in the art market and scene and, according to the educational plan, topics such as coursing and subject encroachment are also significant for professional art teaching, it is important to deal not only didactically and pedagogically, but also subject-specifically and interdisciplinarily with currently significant trends in art and to create synergies here between subject content, didactics and method. It is profitable for the teachers in the arts and culture profile of our school to visit contemporary exhibitions together and to reflect on them. It is especially worthwhile to follow the "big" art exhibitions (documenta, Biennale di Venezia), as they are both trend-setting and summarizing with regard to existing directions in subject matter and teaching practice. In addition to integrating the latest media and methods to support foreign language learning, the foreign language colleague was particularly interested in following the latest trends in foreign languages and integrating them into the lessons, as well as expanding the spectrum of authentic regional references taught.
