Project summary

All participating project schools would like to see itself as a progressive school, where all students with their individual backgrounds are welcome and receive education that gives them good chances in finding a career, but also opportunities for further university education. In a local and global society that is rapidly internationalising, the implementation of this goal requires a school curriculum that anchors internationalisation and teachers with international competences that strengthen the internationally oriented profile of the school. Another important goal is to enable teachers to implement digital media and learning platforms more intensively in their lessons and to use them for international exchange. The project encourages the use of digital tools and demonstrates the way in which ICT can be used to make students appreciate the educational value. The modern technology-driven world with ever shorter reaction times places diverse and intensive demands on all of us - both in our professional and private lives. We can best meet these demands by becoming aware of them, adapting mentally and physically and learning how to deal with the resulting pressure. This insight forms the starting point for our project "4Steps4Health", which aims to educate students about health. Keeping healthy is a lifelong process and in order to achieve a comprehensive physical, mental and social well-being it is necessary to be aware of one's needs and living conditions and to be able to cope with or even change them. In this sense, health is to be understood as an essential part of everyday life and not as a primary goal of life. Health stands for a positive concept that emphasizes the importance of social and individual resources for health in the same way as physical abilities. Lack of exercise, unhealthy eating habits and increased stress levels are a global problem, especially among children and adolescents. The first step on the path to exercise is the most important and brings measurable health benefits. Sport also has a positive effect on body weight, creates a change from the daily grind, reduces stress and increases self-confidence. A healthy diet, be it for everyday life or for sports, brings a better body feeling and reduces overweight. Relaxation counteracts the pressure of everyday life due to school commitments and other individual demands. Various workshop offers on the topics of exercise, nutrition and relaxation will be tried out with fun, experience and Adventure, for example by cooking together. Health can be included as a cross-cutting task in the educational work. Creativity of well-being Gathers together all aspects of this Project. It is an creative overview and an opportunity to seal the knowledge. The product manual (ebooklet) makes it possible to make the results of the project usable for schools even after the project has ended. The manual provides suggestions and implementation possibilities to make school a healthier place and to not only make a healthy lifestyle a topic, but to integrate it into everyday life. It is intended to provide support for pupils, teachers, school management and parents on how a healthy lifestyle can be implemented in everyday school life. Other expected results are: Erasmus+ corners, common logo, Twinspace group, partner's presentations,surveys/presentations, questionnaires, statistics, evaluation forms, Video, seminar e-twinning, Flyers/brochures. International school partnership programmes contribute to the self-management of the pupils within the framework of project work. In project-based learning, teaching and learning is based on current, practical tasks and on the basis of later professional practice. The students receive or give themselves a task which they work on as a team: a technical problem for which they develop a solution themselves and which they work on with advice, but largely on their own responsibility. In a limited time they have to produce a result that is documented and presented. Project-based learning challenges students, which makes it an excellent tool for developing their personality and talents. For teachers, internationalisation offers an enrichment of their professional knowledge and their professional motivation is increased, both by accompanying the mobility and through contacts with foreign colleagues. Parental involvement can also increase and intensify. Finally, internationalisation is an important differentiating factor for schools. The potential longer-term benefits of internationalisation are seen in preparing students to live, learn and work in an international community. It is therefore important that internationalisation is integrated into the curricula and school policies of schools. Internationalisation prepares students for participation in the international community, they have better opportunities on the international labour market, it promotes teachers' professional development and enriches the curriculum.

Final report summary

WEBINAR E-TWINNING Due to the Corona pandemic, the activities had to be adapted. In consultation with the partner schools, it was decided to start the project digitally. This initially concerns the activities C1-C2 and P1-P4 described in the application. The Italian partner school organised a webinar on the use and handling of E-Twinning (P1). The speaker explained the possibilities of use to the stakeholders of the partner schools and introduced the functions via video conference. A summary of the event/results can be found on the project's Twinspace. LOGO To be recognized as a valid project, we needed a LOGO. It has to be closed before the first meeting with the students. Each school organized a logo contest itself. One logo per school was selected for the competition. All schools took part in the vote. The Italian team won the competition. After that, we used the logo on all official documents, websites, and places that required an Erasmus + logo along with the logo of the project. After each meeting, we created reports to keep track of our appointments, to document our own work and to clarify problems / misunderstandings that we encounter during project work. It was also about specifying all the topics we have done in relation to the project, whether it is writing diaries for movement and nutrition, following seminars, preparing for school lectures / classes / activities. COMMUNICATION There were different communication channels between teachers and students. We had all the documents stored and knew that they could be checked. The primary source was e-mail (all e-mail addresses were known to the participants). WhatsApp was an additional means of communication for quick and easy questions. For students and Erasmus itself, there was a E-Twinning page activated by the German team. For the videoconferences during the Corona pandemic, the platform "jitsi meet" was used, as the e-twinning site proved to be of little use due to technical difficulties with individual partners. ACTIVITIES: The partners agreed to distribute the project title 4Steps4Health (physical activity, relaxation, nutrition and general well-being) among the countries, so that each country hosted the international meeting on one of these focal points. The agreement was: Belgium - movement, Italy - relaxation, Germany - nutrition and Estonia - general well-being/creativity. Our activities in the project can be divided into: • Pre-meeting activities: videos, presentations, interviews, competitions, lectures, brainstorming, seminars, writing diaries • Activities during the meeting: ice breaking activities, case studies, announcing the winners of the contest (essays) • Activities after each meeting: a digital report, self-created products of action Using the concept of salutogenesis, we tried to convey the importance of maintaining health as a lifelong process to the students in various workshops. The feedback reflected that we succeeded in raising awareness. In particular, the areas of exercise, relaxation and nutrition were able to sensitise the students in this regard and bring about an individual sense of well-being in the project process. For the preparation of the international meetings, the students did various tasks digitally, e.g. writing the exercise and nutrition diaries. Presentations have also been created digitally. Here, learning gains were achieved, especially in the use of the I-Pads. Furthermore, the international cookbook was created digitally with a special programme. DATES AND AMOUNTS OF TRAVELERS For the first exchange in Belgium we have decided to arrive on Monday and leave on Friday. These five days have been too short. After that experience we decided to arrive on Monday and leave on Saturday. This period of time was more comfortable and gave all, teachers and students, to built up a more intensive relationship. An average of 6 students and two accompanying teachers travelled to each international meeting. DATES AND PLACES OF MEETINGS Germany/Siegen: 18.05.2021, Video-conference Belgium/Turnhout: 15. - 19.11.2021; Participants were only Italy and Estonia. Due to the corona pandemic the principal of our BK AHS did not allow to travel to Belgium. Italy/Turin: 14. - 19.03.2022 Estonia/Tallin: 02. - 07.05.2022 Germany/Siegen: 28.11. - 02.12.2022
