The topic of "plastic waste" is covered by public media almost daily and yet it gets a lot less attention. Still, this issue is just as important to the environment, despite the small and slow changes. Who wants to live in a dirty world? Noone! As we find ourselves in the world where politicians give meaningless speeches and the general population is not yet ready to think seriously about this subject, we decided to cover this subject in an unusual way. We would like to deal with the issue of plastic waste in a positive way and encourage young people to rethink their own way of dealing with plastic. Activities We will start the seminar with a two-day plastic waste collection campaign, where we will discuss the theory of dealing with plastic waste, our own consumption behavior, legal regulations in the EU and the seminar-participating countries as well as practical solutions for plastic waste disposal. It is important to us not to play the moral apostle, but to shape a healthy approach to the current situation. With that in mind, we will construct musical instruments out of the collected plastic waste. We will create something new out of rubbish and utilize it sustainably, at the same time demonstrating what we do to the environment by throwing away plastic. After assembling the instruments, we will make music. We will sharpen our hearing, produce different sounds with the instruments and write texts related to plastic waste. Impact At the end of the seminar, there will be a public performance in town to draw the local population's attention to the topic and to give us an opportunity to talk to them after the concert. Throughout the week, in addition to the many practical approaches, there will always be individual workshops on "plastic waste and pollution". The contents will be determined in advance by the young participants. They will engage in individual workshops on self-selected topics. The workshops will also be recorded by the teenagers, using their smartphones, and shared on the network. The results will be presented in a follow up evaluation, whereby the youngsters will discuss topics for further meetings in one of the partner countries, as we would like to carry out these seminars in each of the participating countries.
