The idea of the youth exchange ‘Empowering Eco-entrepreneurship: from ecology to business’ came up from group of young people involved in the activities of the applicant youth organization and partners. These young people meet at our previous youth exchange where they discussed youth challenges in their countries and in Europe such as youth unemployment, youth passivity and alarming ecological situation. Many young people are living in polluted cities or areas, especially if we talk about air pollution. Taking in consideration all the challenges the group of young people came up with idea to organize project about Eco-entrepreneurship that would focus on these challenges and provide young people a chance to come up with possible solutions. Concept of Eco entrepreneurship consist from two key elements: focus on ecology and empowering people to create own businesses. While social entrepreneurs find solutions to pressing social problems. Eco-entrepreneurs find innovative solutions to pressing environment problems. In many cases Eco-entrepreneurs even address both social and environmental issues at the same time aiming to improve life of economic opportunities for marginalized populations while simultaneously addressing an environment issues. Reflecting on this approach it is possible to say that young entrepreneurs can play significantly important role in designing solutions to global problems. Unfortunately, in the countries involved in this youth exchange the concept of eco-entrepreneurship is not yet developed even if young people are interested to get to know more about it and develop their competencies in the area. Reflecting the interest of young people main goal of the youth exchange ‘Eco-entrepreneurship: from ecology to business’ is to empower young people to become future community leaders able to design innovative solutions to global problems through ecoentrepreneurship. We plan to achieve the main goal through following objectives: - to raise understanding among participants and participating organizations about the concept of ecoentrepreneurship, its key elements; - to support sharing good practices all around the globe and raise interest of the participants to apply new knowledge in practice and develop own Eco-enterprises in the future; - to encourage the participants to share lessons learned during the youth exchange with their peers and to empower them to look for innovative solutions of ecological problems in their communities and countries; - Support eco activism with workshops and activities - Intergenerational activities with the local community - Promote environmental awareness - to provide participants an opportunity to create new partnerships and work on ideas for future projects that could be implemented with support of Erasmus + Programme.
