Objectives

SET - Education for Social Change was initiated and conceptualised by young peer educators who participated in the Peers 2.0: Peer Education for Democratic Citizenship study session in 2018. It explored the topic of education for social change and led to create a toolkit on socialist education. The aim was to develop a common understanding of our international movement's specific approach to non formal education, which we call 'socialist education' and to work on a toolkit on education for social change that will be based on this understanding and will contribute to building youth workers' competencies in our nonformal education methodology It will also share and identify different non-formal education methods for social change to develop an educational toolkit for children’s and youth organizations working with non-formal education. More specifically, the seminar aimed to: - Equip youth workers with core competencies of non-formal education for social change. - Identify the importance of non-formal education for social change. - Create a shared understanding of our network's specific approach to nonformal education. - Develop an educational toolkit with theory, values, methods and good practices based on our approach of nonformal education for social change. - Design an accessible and inclusive toolkit meeting the needs of the participating organizations and beyond.
