Objectives

With the proposed project we had intended to train youth workers, youth leaders, teachers and other actors involved in youth work, support them to get inspired and motivated in their professional life, create a learning space with the possibility of personal and professional growth, introduce Outdoor Adventure Education as an effective methodology to be used in youth work for achieving better results as well as enjoyable processes. In other words, Green Classroom aimed to raise the quality and outreach of youth work (conducted by the partner organizations) by training representative youth workers, improving their professional competencies relevant to their work, giving them specific tools to increase their performance as well as boost their motivation and satisfaction. The project set the following objectives: - To introduce and promote Outdoor Adventure Education as an efficient learning methodology while working with groups of young people; - To create a safe space for experiencing, observing, reflecting and learning; - To reflect upon the challenges at local youth work and provide relevant tools for working on them; - To improve participants’ basic soft skills, such as team-work, communication, adaptability, and crisis response by involving them into the planning and management of an outdoor expedition; - To improve participants competencies relevant for creating and facilitating learning processes with young people; - To give participants tools and confidence (inner-readiness) to transfer gained/improved competences back home, into local grassroots work; These objectives had been achieved through 9 days semi-outdoor training course, where participants went through the experiential learning cycle, explored the practical appliance of outdoor adventure education as well as got theoretical framing of it.
