Objectives

The idea of the project arose from a project workshop of an international meeting on the topic of identity in 2019 and is lead-managed by former participants. The Politischer Jugendring Dresden e. V. and the Deutsche Jugend Lemberg e. V. in recent years have gained a lot of experience in cooperation and implementation of international youth meetings. Through this project both organizations want to consolidate their cooperation, combine specific qualities of their educational and cultural work and expand their partnership with a new partner. The content of the project focuses on the topic of gender and discrimination related to it. Whereas the topic is steadily gaining importance in Germany, especially among young people, in Ukraine it is still burdened with many prejudices. The inclusion of a Swedish partner was reasonable, as in recent years this country has made a name for itself with its very progressive legal decisions on gender issues. Through this mix, we believe we can bring a wide range of attitudes and experiences into exchange with each other. In terms of the Erasmus+ program our project tried to create an intercultural dialogue on questions of identity and on values of recognizing diversity and equality between the participants. The questions of freedom and self-determination have to be put in relation to social and cultural values in order to convey knowledge about the topic, but also in order to sensitize for existing forms of discrimination and unequal treatment as well as to develop individual, collective and political strategies for action.
