The main idea of the project was in raising awareness of Sustainable Development Goals and show real examples of the transformation of these goals into actions. The project aimed at presenting different tools and entrepreneurship ideas in order for participants to use them and initiate change in their local communities. Moreover, the project aimed at providing an environment for young people working in an international team and also the first experience of non-formal education Namely the main aims of the project were the next: 1. to raise awareness of participants about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2. organizing field trips to local communities and projects to show an example of how local initiatives convert SDGs into actions 3. to create space for “sustainable thinking”, where participants based on gained knowledge will develop projects for their local communities. Considering these facts, we have developed the idea of the youth exchange with the following objectives: -learn the status quo on sustainability and environmental awareness among young people from participating countries -discuss and explore the topics of production and consumption as pillars of sustainability -explore the concept of globalization, its consequences, and participants’ role in it -equip participants with entrepreneurial skills and show best practices of eco- and community enterprises in Portugal -train participants on generating ideas to address socio- and ecological challenges and give participants a chance to work them out in in the field -give participants tools for the implementation of their own projects in their countries -provide a space for reflection on national sustainability policies and for cross-border cooperation and intercultural learning -create space for communication & sharings
