Objectives

The aim of this training was to train the participants, who work as multipliers in Serbia and Germany on a voluntary or full-time basis in youth work, on socially important topics in terms of content and methods. To do this, they learned methods of non-formal education, made a wide variety of experiences and exchanged ideas with others who are also involved in youth work / non-formal youth education. The aim was for the participants to be able to carry out workshops with young people after the training on the following socially important topics in an interactive, realistic way, using a wide variety of methods: 1. Group building - support group processes - promote teamwork 2. Inclusion: dealing with handicaps - promoting understanding and solidarity 3. Nature and adventure education: experiencing nature and oneself and understanding it better 4. Tolerance and understanding: dealing with discrimination, populism and nationalism -intercultural learning: understanding others and oneself better. The participants and the organizations organizing this training wanted to make a contribution to a more tolerant, solidarity-based and sustainable society. The aim was to improve the variety of methods in youth work, thereby making it more interesting, attractive and thus a bit more sustainable for the young people, but also for the team leaders themselves. Another goal was that socially important issues receive more attention in youth work. Since there is a lack of innovative methods for the above-mentioned important social issues in youth work, especially in Serbia, or these have not yet been sufficiently disseminated, the aim of this project was to write a brochure in Serbian, English and German and to be published, which, subdivided into the five themes mentioned, presents exercises and games that are well suited for youth work/non-formal youth education. The content of the brochure should also be presented on the project's own website. In this way, those involved in the project wanted and want to ensure that as many volunteers and full-time employees as possible who are involved in youth work and/or non-formal education receive new ideas for their involvement and are given guidance on how to tackle socially important issues such as inclusion , solidarity, tolerance, sustainability in youth work in an interesting way. After the training, the aim was for the participants to carry out two-day training courses in pairs within their regional teams in order to pass on the knowledge they had gained to others. In this way, ten day training courses were to be held in Serbia and also in Lower Saxony. The aim was also to consolidate the cooperation between the partners and to establish an independent cooperation between the Lower Saxony Youth Red Cross and the youth in the Red Cross of Serbia. The Serbian Red Cross wanted to use this training as a starting point to initiate a nationwide working group on "Youth work in the Serbian Red Cross" together with the Serbian participants of this training.
