The project "Think Globally, Act Locally - Art for Eco-Solidarity" aimed to promote environmental inclusion and building network among young people from different countries, to encourage them to be actively involved in preventing pollution and to spread information about environmental problems with the local community. By using different methods of art and the non-formal education methodology it was directly aiming to create a safe learning atmosphere for all the participants with different social, educational, national and culture backgrounds; to create the environment that would facilitate the development and acquisition of new skills, competencies and attitudes. Though each program had a similar frame, each offered the new experience, approach, focus and art medium/tool. Different activities of the program were focused on public awareness and appealing on public consciousness about the environmental issues and works with the comics and graffiti; though social theater and digital methods focus on psycho-social activism and engagement of young people in this problematic. To achieve this, we set the following objectives: - Provide participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes on inclusion of young people in activities which are connected to environmental issues; - Share experience and examples of good and bad practices by methods of non- formal education and learning from each other; - Increase awareness of youth about pollution and its consequences; - Find ways how to solve environmental problems in each country; - Share opinions, approaches, experience and knowledge on environmental situation and issues in the participating countries; - Promote healthy lifestyle activities for young people in terms of environmental protection; - Raise awareness about recycling through artistic activities and workshops among young people; - Encourage young people to be actively involved in decision-making process regarding the protection of the environment in their home countries; - Provide a space for sharing best practices focusing on using non-formal educational methods in the field of youth work; - Introduce Youth Pass as a tool for self-assessment, evaluation and recognition of non-formal learning; Based on this, project participants had a chance to form a network of friends who had similar interests in bringing positive change to their communities. Most importantly, they understood that they have potential to make the world a better place and they will use the skills they learned at a young age for the rest of their lives. Developing communication and social skills, improving sense of initiative and negotiation enabled participants and their organizations to increase the chances of youth to enter active citizenship.
