With the 12-day H.O.P. Camp, the European partner network of Sportjugend Hessen wanted to plan, carry out and reflect a multilateral youth-exchange to reach marginalised young people and young people with disabilities, who are generally not able to participate in non-formal education programmes such as this one, because of their living conditions. Young people should have been encouraged to develop their own priorities in the cross-cutting theme of "human rights“ and to participate in attractive learning programmes within a heterogenious group, consisting of people with disabilities and limited chances. In order to achieve an intensive discussion of the topic, every learning programme should've enabled all people, beyond any kind of handicaps to participate. Regarding the new European youth strategy, the partner network wanted to base the projects contents and aims especially on the views of young Europeans and thus on the EU-Youth-Goals. This way, the planning team hoped to make a relevant contribution to the realisation of this vision as well as to achieve an active involvement of participants in the educational modules and programmes. According to these aspects, the project focused on the following objectives: - "Inclusive societies": Social inclusion of young people with disabilities and/or social disadvantages. In particular, this involves pointing out and working out possibilities and ways of participating in an inclusive and European society. - "Connecting the EU with Youth": The mediation and collaborative work on European values such as freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights within an intercultural dialogue, should lead to an "European identity", which is to be developed across religious, social and cultural differences and beyond the scope of the project. - “Spaces and participation for all" in all stages of the project, and as the main focus of the organizational and contentrelated structure of the project no matter social inequalities or physical impairments. - “Good learning": With the support of the EU-Youth-Pass certificate, young people are encouraged to self-reflect on their learning output, setting learning objectives and to choose their education-method according to their own learning interests. - Development of "intercultural competencies" as well as protection and maintenance of "cultural diversity" throughout a variety of intercultural meetings and exchange situations. In addition, young people presented their own culture at national evenings and closed ranks via adventure pedagogical offers.
