Firstly - we wanted to further strengthen the dynamics and cooperation between the three reading counsellors. They work closely together and it was a strong incentive and a strong bonus to share this experience (instead of sending the one and relying on her to pass on the results upon return). In their everyday life there is little time to exchange views and ideas. But first and foremost the hope was, of course, to gain new knowledge and inspiration from the Finnish colleagues. Secondly - we wanted to see if the Dutch could teach us anything about digitalisation in high school education - in all its many and varied aspects. Our colleague works alone in her field. She disseminates her skills and knowledge to all colleagues and students, but is solely responsible in her field. Thirdly - the Spanish teacher would be updated and an even stronger and more authentic teacher of his students after the jobshadowing and we also wanted him to explore the possibilities of having this school as a permanent school for students' exchanges. Up till now we have been KA2 partners, but we would like to add this school to our list of exchange schools since one Spanish school is no longer that stable due to the retirement of our contact person.
As stated in the application we have focused on three aspects of our European Development Plan in this mobility project Firstly further education of the three reading counsellors (læsevejledere) to assist students in reaching their fullest individual potential despite their reading difficulties by sending them on a jobshadowing to Finland where they excel in this field Secondly the digital counsellor and librarian (studiecenterleder) visited her Dutch colleague to exchange views on strategies in the field of digital education. This involves teaching students the necessary technical skills and developing an appropriate critical approach to information on the internet (fake news, etc.) and lastly (a socio-emotionally) understanding digital footprints, big data, and how not to get caught in the rabbitholes of the internet. Thirdly the Spanish teacher went to our long-standing partner school in Bilbao for a dual purpose; to further educate himself about Spanish classroom culture and the Spanish educational system and to seek inspiration for his own teaching (we face a severe crisis in Denmark about the teaching of second foreign language which attracts way too few students) and to strengthen the bond between our two schools.
