Objectives

Main goal of the youth exchange ‘Get Activated. Be Citizen.’ was to encourage young people to become actively involved in their communities, countries, and on the European level. The youth exchange ‘Get Activated. Be Citizen’ tackled the topic of citizenship in intercultural settings with the main aim to encourage young people to learn from practices of other countries as well as to develop competencies needed to take part in decision-making processes in their communities and countries. The youth exchange ‘Get Activated. Be Citizen.’ reflected the needs and interests of the partners and young people involved in the participating organizations - Youth Spectrum (Denmark), Next Generation (North Macedonia), Backlash (Spain), Youth Workers Alliance Vranje (Serbia), Academy of Success (Bulgaria), The Rising Stars (Italy) and Genclik Mevsimi Dernegi (Turkey). Through the project, we covered topics such as youth passivity, youth activism, involvement of young people in decision making processes and moreover, it provided young people an opportunity to increase competences that they need to get activated and be part of their communities. The youth exchange ‘Get Activated. Be Citizen.’ aimed to reach following objectives: -To encourage young people to become actively involved in their communities, countries, and on the European level; -To open discussion on the concept of citizenship at the local, national and international level; -To reflect on the rights and responsibilities of young people as citizens of their communities, countries and Europe; -To address the topic of youth passivity, to identify the roots and to come up with ideas activating young people; -To learn from inspiring examples of young people who are active citizens involved in decision making in their communities; -To provide the participants with an opportunity to develop the competencies needed to make their voice be heard and enabling to participate in the life of their communities; -To produce several results which will be used outside of this YE as learning materials for young people and those working with young people and addressing the topic of citizenship: booklet, blog and series of videos; -To increase the knowledge of the participants on the Erasmus + Programme and to encourage them to be actively involved in international mobility activities.
