During this EDUCamp Youth Exchange, participants, supported by their group leaders, jointly carry out a work programme which is a mix of workshops, exercises, interaction, reflection, role-plays, outdoor activities and a field trip which is designed and prepared by the participants in collaboration with their group leaders at the partner organization before the Exchange. The EDUCamp Youth Exchange is designed to enable the young people to get in-depth knowledge about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals while they are developing their entrepreneurial and personal competences and becoming aware of socially relevant topics through the focus on the SDG’s. They will at the same time discover new cultures, habits and life-styles, mainly through peer-learning and creating community at MillCamp. They will not only strengthen values like solidarity and democracy, they will develop friendships across borders and expand their network. It is clear that youth these days wish to become more and more actively engaged in creating the kind of world they wish to live in. The very best way to create global cohesion is to understand and embrace diversity through curiosity and collaboration, and through sharing ideas of expansion, creativity and positive focus while building community together. The objectives of this project is therefore to deepen the understanding of the sustainable development goals while tailoring them into entrepreneurial initiatives through sharing ideas on how to advocate and raise awareness about SDG’s. Through ideating- and design thinking processes the participants will develop entrepreneurial ideas in order that they may become more impactful in their communities. The benefits, of such a cultural exchange of knowledge, is for youth to have the chance to meet people from different cultures, to share entrepreneurial challenges, opportunities and ideas. They will gain knowledge about different perspectives, of how both northern and southern countries perceive sustainable development, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial actions in their hometowns, locally as well as regionally. It is an excellent opportunity to give youth the chance to culture exchange and brainstorm together, while encouraging them to start global and/or regional initiatives to promote the Sustainable Development Goals and entrepreneurship. The objective is also to develop the communication skills, entrepreneurial skills and intercultural communication skills of the participating youth - ages between 18-29, and to ensure that the young people work on how to prepare emotionally for entrepreneurship. It is a learning mobility, an EDUCamp in a non-formal and informal learning environment. It will improve the level of key competences and skills of the young people and promote their participation in democratic life in Europe and beyond. It is an intercultural dialogue created to support and foster quality improvements in youth work and complement policy reforms - the UN SDG’s at a local, regional and national level. The EDUCamp can be seen as a tool for the dissemination of good practices, enhancing the international dimension of youth activities and creating cooperation between stakeholders from Programme and Partner Countries.
