Objectives

This project had two important objectives for Sõmeru Secondary School. 1) The first objective was to promote inclusive learning, where students are motivated to learn and participate in the school life and contribute to the well-being of the local community. Our school is part of two major national programmes in Estonia: Entrepreneurial School (Ettevõtlik Kool) and Schools on the Move (Liikuma Kutsuv Kool). Both programmes are dedicated to bringing more activity, joy and fun to the classroom and making learning more engaging for students. Two courses chosen in this mobility help support these objectives. 2) As each year there appear to be more students with special needs in our schools and additionally there is the challenge of integrating Ukrainian students into our school, it is important to help establish a supportive and well-functioning mentoring system for both teachers and students. One of the courses chosen in this mobility helps to achieve this objective. Also, Erasmus+ mobility projects always offer a wonderful opportunity to meet colleagues and experts from different countries and share experiences. This is very important in order to enhance international cooperation and cross-cultural understanding.

Background

Our school is very interested in learning about school life and education in different countries. We consider it very important to stay informed about educational innovations, the best teaching methods and the overall state of education in various countries. It is our responsibility to always be up-to-date with the changes and challenges in education and to offer the best possible solutions for our children. Erasmus mobility projects offer a wonderful chance to meet colleagues and experts from different countries, share experiences and learn from each other.
