Objectives

The general goal of the study wisits was to expand teachers' and school management members' knowledge of teaching methodologies for children with special needs, to collect and pass on practical skills and newer methodologies. At the same time, in addition to children with learning difficulties, talented students are also in the spotlight. We wanted to develop teachers' ability to spot a learner with special needs. The second goal was to keep teachers up to date with newer active learning methods that can be used to individualize learning. We wanted to implement the above objectives in the development of a peer-to-peer internal training system. An additional goal was to increase teachers' linguistic self-confidence, so that an even wider circle of teachers would be ready to expand their skills and horizons by participating in Erasmus+ projects.

Background

When creating project Every student is worth teaching, we were based on the areas of development outlined in the PMG Internal Evaluation Report 2019: * developing a system of internal trainings for teaching assistants; * developing a systematic and jointly followed approach to support students who fall behind temporarily in their studies; * mapping methods of supporting gifted students as SEN students; * developing a unified system for developing students into self-directed learners. * involving more than 8 teachers in the following Erasmus+ projects; * increasing teachers' linguistic self-confidence. The further goal is to try to reach the creation of individual learning paths and to shape both students and teachers into lifelong learners. For this, all school employees need a good overview of what is happening in the international educational landscape, familiarity with the best teaching methods and the courage to experiment and introduce innovations. The members of the school management, in turn, need a vision and an understanding of the possibilities for this in a large school and in the case of large class sets.
