Objectives

We wanted to provide professional development for educators, also leading to the improvements in curricula and teaching methods, enabling schools to offer learning that meets the needs of today's labour market. We wanted participants to be more entrepreneurial, have the courage to share and implement new ideas to further develop the profession. The learning process is inclusive and the knowledge and skills taught are relevant. Lessons have the necessary international dimension that helps to prepare students to enter the national and international labor market - teachers passing on their personal experience allow sharing knowledge and experience of the work arrangements and peculiarities of different cultures. Students’ mobility helps them understand the difference in work cultures, make them more tolerant, cooperative, independent and develop professional knowledge and skills. After the mobility, the school will have more active, involved and inclusive students and staff who will contribute to the promotion of vocational education and training and to the development of the profession in the school and in life. The mobility experience of each participant will also contribute directly and indirectly to international cooperation.

Background

It is important for Järva County Vocational Training Centre to offer its students a broad education and versatile practice that meets the needs of the labor market, so that interest in the chosen profession continues or increases, reducing student dropout rates, improving student motivation and competitiveness. We support the development of the key competences of lifelong learning - self-confidence, initiative, adaptability, cultural awareness, foreign language and cooperation skills. Through the learning mobility, the school receives feedback on the expectations and requirements in the European labor market which is one of the inputs for supplementing the studies at the home school, updating the curricula if necessary, in order to meet the needs and thereby contribute to the creation of a common European labor market. The project also contributes to the expansion of the employees' world view, the diversification of learning methods and the development of curricula. The aim was to continue diversifying cross-border cooperation - new partner organisations, learn from best practices, create a better readiness to receive foreign students and find other cooperation opportunities.
